15-Piece Noah’s Ark Carved Soapstone Set
Hand-carved from Kisii soapstone by African artisans, this 15-piece Noah’s Ark set includes the boat base, removable house on the top, and various figurines & animals. Many of the animals fit into the storage space inside the boat.

Product Features:
- Due to the handmade nature, actual size of each piece will vary slightly. The boat base is about 8 inches long, 7 inches tall, and 4 inches wide when assembled. Each animal figurine varies in size, but each are approximately 2-3 inches in length.
- Because these are hand-carved, one-of-a-kind sets made by different artisans in the community, actual pieces may have minor design nuances, but will be representative of images displayed.Â
- Each piece is made from natural stone. Color variations can range from cream to pink to gold to gray in any single piece.
- Soapstone is a soft stone, making it easy to carve into many forms. Handle with care to avoid breakage.Â

Story Behind the Art:
Each sculpture is artfully hand-carved from a single piece of Kisii soapstone, found only in the hills of southwestern Kenya. Mining the soapstone from surface hills is a labor-intensive process, using little to no machinery. Laborers work with shovels, picks, axes and machetes to carve out large soapstone chucks, which are then carved into beautiful art. ​
